NC Native Plant Garden

We are pleased to announce that the native plant gardens at Penny Road have been certified as official native plant gardens under the “Native Plant Habitat Program” of the “North Carolina Native Plant Society!” On Friday April 11, 2008, the NC Native Plant Society president Mr. Tom Harville presented to Mark Barbar and John and Ann Sykes a certificate for the school stating our special certification. One of these gardens is located at the foot of the bridge leading into our walking trails in the back of the school. The other garden, which has just recently been planted, is located along one part of the wall of the cafeteria.
